Divorce on the rise in Limerick
The Limerick independent is reporting today that divorce figures are on the increase in Limerick. There is a dramatic rise in divorce figures from 2003 to 2004.
In 2003 there was a total of 105 divorces in Limerick, but in 2004 there was 176 divorces in the city and county. That is an increase of 71 in one year.A limerick solicitor says , “in virtually all cases the children stay with the mother although there are some when the children spend about half their time with each parent”
He believed that the figure should be a lot higher because most separated couples don’t bother going through the legal process of divorce due to the expense.
And they say love costs nothing.
