Man found dead under Shannon bridge

A body of a man in his 20's has been found under the Shannon bridge in Limerick City.

The man was found by gardai around 11pm last night where he was described as having major head and facial injuries.An ambulance was called for the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist.

Gardai say they are treating the death as 'suspicious'.
