International conference centre for Limerick/Shannon area

A 2,000 seater international conference centre could be coming to the Limerick area. The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation has announced that the Limerick/Shannon area has been identified by the ITIC as the best regional location for this project.

They say it is a good location because of the amount of tourist passenger numbers passing through Shannon airport and they think the project would help develop the Mid-West as a hub for wider economic growth.

The ITIC say that a regional Conference Centre in Shannon/Limerick would have a major impact on re-balancing regional growth in terms of overall economic activity.
