Limerick Garda saves woman from canal


A woman was rescued from the canal between Clonlara and O Briens Bridge last night after she was spotted in the water by an off duty Garda.

The Garda who is stationed in Limerick was jogging along the embankment of the canal at 9pm yesterday evening when he saw the womans body in the water. He pulled her out and administered C.P.R

The woman who is in her 50’s was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.It is understood that she was jogging along the canal when she tripped and fell in earlier on in the evening.

She is said to be in a critical condition this afternoon.
