River deel project stopped again today

Work has been stopped again this morning on the river Deel project at the white line in Palaskenry.

As the County Council contractors started up their machinery this morning a handful of protesters once again prevented them from passing the white line. They blocked the road and refused to move.

The Gardai were then called and names were taken of four individuals who were obstructing the work.

It is now possible that these four people will be summonsed to the high court for breaching the injunction obtained by Limerick County Council last week.

One protester , Breada Clarke spoke to Live 95 FM this morning saying,

Well I feel at this stage we are worn out from the whole campaingn and I think
it is a disgrace that we have to stand at the white line to hold onto our spring
water which we have had for 50 years

When asked wether she would go to jail Breada said,

I will go to jail, ill stand beside Orla
Orla Kieser who was in court yesterday will appear again on Thursday.
