New mayor of Limerick elected

36-year-old father of two Joe Leddin has been elected Mayor of Limerick city after a meeting tonight in City hall.

The Labour Councillor was the only name to be put forward for election. His election was unopposed.

He will now earn a nice salary of €65,000 including allowances and gets the use of the mayors car for a year.
