Limerick welcomes home rugby heroes
Limerick city is set to welcome the Munster team home today with a victory parade through the city.
Thousands of people are expected to line the city streets again today and welcome home the rugby heroes as they parade the Heineken Cup in an open top bus.
The festivities for the team begin at 2.30pm today at city hall where there will be a Mayoral reception for the team. Following that at around 3.30pm, the team will tour the city starting at Athlunkard Street towards King John castle, across to Clancy’s Strand up and back across Sarsfield Bridge and back up O Connell Street where a stage is set up for an event at around 4.15pm.
Meanwhile local radio reports that hundreds of Munster fans who are trying to return home in time for the party are delayed at a Welsh ferry port because their ferry is having trouble docking due to high winds. They fear they may miss the festivities.
