Limerick Murder : Three arrested



THREE ARRESTED AS THE HUNT STARTS

Three men were detained tonight as Gardai search for a motive in the killing of Keith Ryan.The three men in their 20's were all arrested this evening in a rapidly moving murder investigation.

Keith Ryan was beaten and left to die on Thursday night under the Shannon bridge in Limerick city.Wittnesses reported seeing two men flee the scene shortly after the vicious attack took place.

It was thought Mr Ryan suffered major head ,back and facial injuries as a result of the attack.A preliminary post mortem was carried out at the scene by the state pathologist Mairie Cassidy.The body of the man was removed to the Limerick Regional Hospital this evening where a full autopsy will be carried out.

The Garda Technical Bureau spent most of the afternoon going over the scene which remains sealed off tonight.

The three men arrested this evening are being held at Mayorstone Garda station in the city and can be held without charge for up to 12 hours.
