English man gets 9 years for Limerick woman’s rape

An English man who raped a Limerick woman has been jailed today.

44-year-old Peter Dolan, from Wolverhampton was jailed for nine years after the rape of the Limerick woman in south Dublin back in 1999.

He was found guilty of the rape back in March of this year and received his sentence today. The man was also found guilty of assault.

During the trial the victim said she did not give consent but Mr. Dolan had insisted it was consensual sex.

His jail term was backdated to July of last year.
