People injured after traffic accident in Co. Limerick

First reported at 10.36pm

Two people were reported injured tonight after a road traffic accident in Co. Limerick.

The high speed side impact crash which happened on the bog road between Herbertstown and Old Pallas caused one car to flip and roll landing in an embankment at the side of the road.

Reports say that one car may have been doing speeds of over 100 kmph when the accident occurred around 10pm tonight.

A total of two people were freed from the carnage and one of the individuals, a 23 year old male, was said to be suffering from chest pain along with other minor injuries. It’s thought that his seatbelt caused some of his injuries.

Fire rescue units from Cappamore and Kilmallock attended the scene. Two ambulances also attended the scene.
