Defence firm seeks Garda interview tapes

The man accused of the murder of Mark Maloney has appeared in court today, once again making no application for bail.

At the hearing Judge Tom O’Donnell heard that the defence firm for the accused,19 year old Stephen O Sullivan, were seeking Garda tapes of interviews with their client. The judge granted the application for the release of the tapes which hold interviews carried out by gardai with the 19 year old.

Garda Inspector Tom O’Brien told the judge that the DPP file was near completion and should be available in three weeks.

The matter was adjourned until the 20th of May.
