Six injured as car hits van

Six people including a 3 year old boy have been injured this evening in a major road traffic accident.

Emergency Services attended the scene of the traffic accident which involved at least eight people, on the Fedemore Road.

The accident between the car and a van occurred around 5pm around a mile from Limerick on the R511 road. At least six people, including a young boy, were injured in the accident and were transferred to Limerick regional hospital.The seriousness of their injuries is not known.

A section of the road was closed to traffic as emergency services dealt with the accident.
