Clare councillor deeply concerned over gun incidents

A councillor representing residents of south east Clare says he is “deeply concerned” following two gun incidents in the region over the last week.

Cllr. Cathal Crowe was speaking this week following an incident involving a pellet gun near Westbury Stores, which is within the Clare boundary and a serious shooting attack at Barry’s cross in Ardnacrusha last Thursday.

He told the Limerick Leader this weekend,

“This is a quiet residential area and it is frightening to think that these two incidents have taken place. Both incidents occurred in close proximity to shops where young people and children often congregate, an innocent bystander could easily been injured or killed.”
