Limerick Gardai in hour long car chase

Limerick Gardai were involved in a high speed chase of a suspect vehicle for near an hour today in the east Co. Limerick

Gardai attempted to stop a car in Limerick city around 2.30pm when the occupants fled. Gardai initially chased the suspect car towards Monaleen however the chase then made its way out the Ballysimon road.

Gardai from Henry Street and Roxboro stations assisted by county units gave chase to the male driver which saw them pass through Bother, Dromkeen, Cappamore and Grange cross. It is at this point that Gardai apparently lost sight of the suspects.

NewsWire understands a Garda Car was rammed during the near hour long chase.
