County Council Cathaoirleach to be chosen

A new Cathaoirleach is to be elected at Limerick County Council today.

The election is to be carried out during the Annual General meeting of the council which takes place in Dooradoyle this evening.

Progressive Democrat Eddie Creighton who is based in Hospital, Co. Limerick is expected to be chosen as the new chairperson.

Councilor Bridget Teefy who is stepping down from the role today was elected last year by having her name chosen out of a plastic bag.
