Youth charged over graveyard desecration

A 15 year old boy will plead guilty to criminal damage and driving a stolen car next week when he appears in court.

The boy from Southill was arrested on Monday after a bench warrant was issued.

On December 15th 2005 it is suspected that the youth stole a Nissan Sunny car in Limerick city centre and used it to ram the gates of Mount Saint Lawrence cemetery. He then drove over headstones and graves leaving considerable damage in his wake.

The youth was in court today and will appear again next week.
