::A woman was still in a critical condition in hospital Wednesday after she was rescued from a canal in Clonlara by an off duty Garda on Monday night.

::Major traffic delays were seen after a truck overturned on the N21/N20 near Carew Park Wednesday morning. No one was injured but the track remained at the scene while a crane was found to move it.

::The Heineken Cup and the Ryder cup were both in Limerick City Wednesday. They made a brief appearance at the O2 shop on O’Connell Street. The Ryder cup is currently on a nationwide tour.

::Flags at Limerick City Hall were lowered to half mast Tuesday and will remain so until Satarday in a tribute to Charles Haughey who has died.
