Two men to appear in court Tuesday in relation to gangland activity


Two men who were in a stolen car while in possession of a loaded firearm will appear in court Tuesday morning.

23-year-old Liam Keane and another 20-year-old man were arrested by local Gardai assisted by the Emergency Response Unit in the Corbally area of the city Saturday night after Gardai spotted the two men driving a stolen car.

Following a very brief pursuit Gardai stopped the car and the pair were arrested. A loaded Glock pistol was found in the car.

Mr. Keane (seen right) is a well-known Limerick criminal with over 50 previous convictions.

Both will appear before Limerick District Court at 10.30am

Meanwhile Gardai have arrested another man in relation to gangland activity in Limerick City. The 24-year-old is being held at Roxboro Garda station after he was arrested Monday morning.

23-year-old Liam Keane and 20-year-old Greg Crawford have been charged with the possession of a loaded pistol and have been remanded in custody until May 13th.

The court heard they made no reply when charged and there was no application for bail
