Schoolgirl killed in early morning accident
A 13 year old schoolgirl has been killed following a traffic accident in Limerick.
It’s understood the girl was crossing the Old Cork Road at the Cat's Cradle pub in Carrigmartin around 7.50am when she was struck and killed by an oncoming car.
The victim has been named locally as Maura Hourigan who was a 1st year student at Laurel Hill Secondary School in Limerick City, Live95FM reports.
Gardai at Roxboro are investigating the accident and the road remains closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.
