Two men released in Geoghegan murder probe
Two people have been arrested, questioned and subsequently released, in relation to the murder of Shane Geoghegan who was shot dead last November.
A 57 year old man was arrested yesterday morning at his home in Limerick city and a 28 year old man arrested in Clondalkin Co. Dublin.
Both were reportedly being held on the suspicion of withholding information relating to the murder. Gardai say they were detained under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act at Roxboro Road and Clondalkin Garda Stations.
Both were released without charge yesterday evening and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to their detentions.
Mr. Geoghegan was visiting friends in the Clonmore estate in Kilteragh Dooradoyle last Novemeber 9th when the was gunned down in a case of mistaken identity during his short walk home.
