Emergency services attend Sunday fires

At least one person was taken to hospital following a house fire in Limerick Sunday evening.

It’s understood the fire broke out at a house on the Greenhill’s road in Garryowen around 8.15pm. A elderly woman in her 70’s was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital suffering from minor smoke inhalation. Other occupants of the house were treated at the scene.

Separately that evening emergency services attended a vehicle fire at an industrial estate on the Ballysimon Road.

The causes of both fires remain unknown this morning.
