Southill Shebeen raided for the third time this week

Gardai have raided a Southill Shebeen for the third time this week after reports that it had commenced operating again despite previous Garda forays.

Last weekend officers removed a large quantity of alcohol on two separate nights including beer, spirits, kegs, taps and fridges. Over 3,000 worth of alcohol was claimed to have been confiscated.

More alcohol was seized last night at the Shebeen which is operating from a house in the Keyes Park estate on the southside of the city. The latest raid occurred around 9pm last night.

Following the bust, the proprietor, Francis Kelly said he would be commencing legal action to have his property returned to him.

For those not familiar with the term, a 'Shebeen' is clandestine bar which does not have a liquor licence.
