Woman in serious condition after city stabbing

A woman is recovering in hospital tonight after she was injured in a stabbing incident in the city centre this afternoon.

The 25 year old was injured in a fracas with two other women at Clare Street at 3.15pm.She was rushed to St. Johns Hospital where her condition is said to be serious but stable.

Gardai are investigating and say they do not have a motive for the attack nor do they know what type of weapon was used.

The victim is from the Moyross area of the city and sustained a deep cut to her lower side.
