'Deals on wheels' man gets 6 years in jail

A man who cycled around on a mountain bike delivering drugs ranging from cocaine to cannabis resin has been jailed at Limerick Court.

36 year old Noel Purcell from Shanabooly Road, Ballynanty, had pleaded guilty back in December to having cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin totalling to a street value of €54,600 for sale or supply.

Purcell, nicknamed “Deals on wheels” for his use of transport also pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of a Glock 9mm hand gun, a Ruger Magnum revolver, a Knall pistol along with numerous rounds of ammunition.

Upon issuing sentence Judge Carroll Moran said the aggravating factor in the case was the combination of drugs and guns.
