Man in court for occupying Southill Shebeen

A Southill man has appeared in court today charged with being an occupier of an unlicensed drink premises last April.

Gardai say 48 year old Anthony Kelly was at the Shebeen which is allegedly run by his brother Francis, at Keyes Park last April when Gardai raided the location.
Mr Kelly was accompanied in court by his brother, Francis, who has stated that he is only facilitating friends who pool their money together to buy cheap alcohol from supermarket chains.

Solicitor John Devane, on behalf of Mr Kelly, petitioned the court to make the State supply a copy of the search warrant, photographs taken by gardai at the premises on the night of the raid, as well as a ledger that was seized.
